Misiones has got a subtropical jungle that lies on the 35 per cent of the provincial territory
It is about 27.000 square km of the provincial territory of Misiones province. Its peculiarity is to be warm even if it is raining and its middle temperatures of about 16 º C in winter and 25 ºC in summer time but it sometimes gets a temperature of about 40ºC.
2.000 species of plants are found in the Jungle and a great variety of animals with 400 species of birds among them. It is one of the most biodiversity systems of Argentina Republic all over the world. Nowadays it is in danger because of private enterprises for deforestation. More than the 40 per cent of the original surface of the Missionary Jungle has been lost.
